Marketing Campaign of the Year (Saka I don port), Telecom Brand of the Year, Overall MarketingWorld Brand of the Year and Marketing Team of the Year. Nokia got the Mobile Phone Brand of the Year.
FirstBank was awarded Financial Brand of the Year, while Mrs Folake Ani Mumuney the Head, Marketing and Corporate Communication of FirstBank won the Marketing Professional of the Year (Female).
Also, Guinness Nigeria plc carted the awards for Excellence in Marketing Innovations and Brand Activation of the Year (Biggest jersey). Mr Austin Ufomba, the Marketing Director of Guinness was also awarded with the Marketing Professional of the Year (male).Gt Bank got the award for the Best use in Social Media.
Others include Starcom Media (Media agency of the Year), DDB (Creative Agency of the Year).Forte Oil (Brand Excellence in Oil and Gas).Dansa (Brand Excellence in Beverages, Juice and Best Product Package Design).
Excitement in the hall reached a crescendo when Mr Biodun Shobanjo was announced as the awardee for the Lifetime Achievement Award. The man who was without his bow tie signature thanked the organisers for the award, praising the quality and the credibility. Another individual winner at the event was Mrs Yomi Ifaturoti, Director Corporate Affairs and Admin Director, PZ Cussons Nigeria PLC; she won the Industry Personality of the Year.
Mr Akin Naphtal, Group Publisher MarketingWorld Magazine, earlier on, said MarketingWorld Awards is an event that has come to stay.
“We want to reward companies and brands for excellence. We want to do this on a platform of credibility and ingenuity, and this is what we have done. Marketing communications in Nigeria is an industry that has evolved over the years and it has become an industry to be proud of”, he added.
The hall which was filled with captains of the marketing industry and other stakeholders were well treated to a fun filled night especially with the Limpopo crooner, Kcee, whose Limpopo and Baby Pullover numbers gave a thrill and brought people to their feet.
