Talking about weddings, it’s been such an eventful year in the
entertainment scene so far – with 2face and Annie Idibia’s nuptials in
the desert to Don Jazzy and D’banj reuniting at the latter sister’s
white wedding – 2013 might just hold an interesting record. But our
celebs aren’t done yet, the year will be ending with another big one;
Tiwa Savage will be tying the knot this weekend!
A week after Peter Okoye’s high profiled wedding to baby mama Lola Omotayo, Tiwa Savage and manager/fiancé, Tunji Balogun (aka ‘Tee Billz’) will be repeating the feat.
The anticipation is getting bigger with each passing day, but the couple have still managed to keep almost everything secret. Fans are dying to know all the details, who will anchor the event? who will perform for the couple? What will they wear? Fret not; we’ve got all the juicy details here...
NET has exclusively gathered that Tiwa and Tunji will on Saturday, November 23, be holding their traditional marriage ceremony at The Ark Vicinity located on Okunade Bluewater Zone, off Remi Olowude Street, Lekki. The nuptials will kick off at 9AM and last four hours followed by a reception at the same venue.
The wedding invitation which is creatively designed with a ‘T and T’ emblem on the cover is printed in two colours – fuchsia and gold, matching the wedding outfit colours of the day. The event is strictly by invitation.
The planning of the wedding was contracted to ‘The Wedding Company’ led by celebrated events expert Funmi Victor-Okigbo. The company also planned the weddings for comedian Basketmouth, Bella Adenuga and Leo Stan Ekeh‘s daughter.
The decoration has been contracted to ‘Newton and David’ owned by veteran decorator Uche Majekodunmi.
The couple will be serenaded by veteran musician King Sunny Ade and a handful of other top Nigerian artistes.
Will Tiwa Savage be planning to outdo every other celebrity wedding that has held this year? We’re not sure about that but we can tell you that she’s been quite meticulous about everything concerning the d-day. In October, she travelled to the UK to pick her wedding dress, no word on the designer though.
Before then Tiwa in the company of her friend, Beth Models CEO, Elohor Aisien travelled to the Maldives in July. The ladies reportedly went to pick out venues and plan other details for a white wedding holding next year.
Sources close to Tiwa also tell us she has been having a hard time penning down the guest list. With the help of her friend, budding make-up artiste Joyce Jacob, the pair (with some input from the hubby-to-be) spent hours crafting the list which mainly comprises of top entertainment buffs, industry executives and business partners.
Speaking about outdoing everybody else, Tiwa seems to have beaten all other celebrity brides this year with her bachelorette party: The 34-year-old and a gang of friends (including Toolz, Tosyn Bucknor, Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi, Fade Ogunro, Toju Foyeh, Lami Philips, Sasha and others) dressed up in their nightgowns and partied up in a Lagos club. Just to spice things up, a few male strippers where invited to tease the ladies – the ‘well endowed’ men danced and showed off their abs sending the ladies into a frenzy.
Keep you fingers crossed for the "surprises" coming with Tiwa Savage's wedding on Saturday!
